Educational Equity for ALL -
Using Data and Assessments to Drive Change

November 17-18th, 2020

COVID-19 Update: As a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and for the safety and well-being of our CERA membership, the CERA Board has made the difficult decision to pivot from an in-person conference at the Disneyland Hotel to a fully virtual experience for our presenters and attendees.  Based on feedback from the membership, the Board is creating a virtual conference November 17-18th with live sessions for 3 hrs each day for CERA members to access along with additional pre-recorded presentations.  More information about the CERA virtual conference schedule and registration will be sent out as we finalize the details.

Educational Equity for ALL - Using Data and Assessments to Drive Change

On behalf of the CERA board, I cordially invite you to participate in  California Educational Research Association's 99th Annual Conference, November 17-18, 2020.  CERA’s annual conference will focus on the work of California educators to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn and achieve at the highest level.  This year,  we will  be  highlighting innovative ways  California's  educators and researchers have been working together to address educational equity throughout the state.

The conference will provide researchers, policy makers and practitioners the opportunity to share ideas, reflect on their work and learn from each other in order to continue to improve the education of all students in California.  We invite all of you, our CERA members, to submit presentation proposals that highlight the  amazing work you are doing in the area of educational equity. Consider sharing a presentation on best practices and successes for achieving educational equity for all students in the areas such as social emotional learning, student engagement, common assessments, school climate, academic success, etc. This year there will be two type of presentation sessions: general sessions (45 minutes) and interactive learning sessions (75 minutes). The goal of the interactive learning session is to give the attendees an opportunity to be involved in their own learning through discourse, activities or simulations

The CERA Board and I look forward to your participation at the 2020 conference.  CERA  is  committed to building a network of educational  professionals,  who connect in meaningful ways to share experiences, conduct or utilize research, provide expertise, and develop techniques to address  classroom  problems , inform  policy, and  shape  administrative  practices.  I hope to see you at all at this year’s conference  whether as a presenter or as an attendee and I welcome your suggestions and comments about how CERA can continue to provide you with a meaningful professional learning opportunity.

 Sincerely,
Susan Green, President
